Egyptian Coach Receives Five Years in Prison for Abusing a Girl in the Gym

Yesterday, the Court of Cassation convicted an Egyptian coach at a foreign school to five years in prison, with the possibility of deportation, for abusing a teenage girl student who was not from Egypt in the school’s gym. The Public Prosecution accused the coach of assaulting the student in the gym by making inappropriate physical contact with her and attempting to kiss her, according to the case files.

In his complaint, the student’s father stated that his daughter had come home in an unusual state and had started crying when he asked her. She went on to tell what her teacher had done to her in the gym. The accused’s act was verified by the surveillance camera records of the school. It is significant because the accused was given a ten-year jail sentence with hard labor by the Court of Appeals.
