First Group of Filipino Domestic Workers Arrives in Kuwait After 18-Month Break

After an 18-month ban, the first group of Filipino domestic workers arrived in Kuwait on Sunday. Approximately 30 female workers were welcomed at Kuwait airport by representatives from the local companies that recruited them, following the completion of their entry procedures.

The workers were then taken to the Philippine Embassy, where the labor attaché provided them with a brief orientation on their job roles and their rights and responsibilities as outlined in Law No. 68 of 2015 concerning domestic workers.

Another batch of around 50 workers is expected to arrive in the coming days. The entry of domestic workers from the Philippines had been restricted for the past 18 months.
