If No biometrics, Then No any transactions

At the close of the first month of the biometric enrollment period for citizens and residents, the Ministry of Interior has announced a cessation of all ministry transactions for those who haven’t completed the process. This window spans from March 1 to June 1. According to a security source speaking to Al-Seyassah, all travelers arriving in the country, regardless of nationality or status, must undergo a mandatory biometric fingerprint procedure at airports and land ports in Abdali, Salmi, and Nuwaiseeb. Refusal to comply will result in deportation, except for citizens. During a recent visit by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the Ministry of Interior for Ramadan, Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf announced plans to implement biometric fingerprint systems across all ports by mid-May 2023.

This initiative involves the General Administration of Information Systems, the General Administration of Forensic Evidence, and the Ports Security Sector. Data for 1,694,000 individuals, citizens, Gulf citizens, residents, visitors, and Bedouns, has been collected and updated. Efforts are ongoing to gather fingerprints from targeted groups through designated centers. The Ministry of Interior has disclosed the locations for biometric enrollment, including governorate security directorates and personal identification sections in Ali Al-Sabah and Jahra areas for residents. Biometric services will also be available at various commercial complexes such as Avenues Mall, 360 Mall, Kout Mall, Capital Mall, and the Ministries Complex.
