The Grand Mosque is ready to welcome 50,000 ‘Qiyam’ worshippers

As the gentle breeze sweeps through the final days of Ramadan, and the nights of salvation from the fire of Hell unfold, they are adorned with forgiveness, mercy, and abundant blessings. Among them is the ‘Lailat-ul-Qadr’ (Night of Destiny), surpassing a thousand months of worship, marked by fervent prayers, prostrations, and earnest pleas for forgiveness throughout the night. Two nights ago, worshippers gathered at the Grand Mosque for prayers on the twentieth night of Ramadan, following meticulous preparations by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. Their dedicated efforts aimed to foster a devout atmosphere for the numerous visitors attending these blessed nights at the Grand Mosque.

Ali Shaddad Al-Mutairi, Director of the Grand Mosque Administration, affirmed, ‘We have made maximum preparations to accommodate 50,000 worshippers.’ He stated, ‘On this auspicious night, as the Grand Mosque welcomed 2,300 worshippers, everyone hopes to attain blessings and leave their imprint during these sacred days.’

Al-Mutairi elaborated in a press statement following the conclusion of the prayers on the first night of the ten blessed nights, highlighting the full readiness of the Grand Mosque administration in collaboration with relevant government agencies such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Information, Kuwait Red Crescent Society, private supporting entities, and volunteers of various ages and genders. These volunteers oversee the entry and exit of worshippers and provide hospitality services during the final ten nights of Ramadan. Tents were erected adjacent to the mosque to accommodate worshippers in anticipation of rain and weather changes. Special tents were allocated for mothers, children, and families to benefit from this time and enjoy the devout atmosphere, reassuring children that they are under safe supervision.
