Kuwait Moves Forward in Engineering Accreditation with India

The President of the Society of Engineers, Faisal Al-Atl, has announced plans to launch a new digital platform focused on recruiting engineers from various nationalities. This platform will ensure that candidates’ qualifications and experiences meet the profession’s standards, followed by accreditation procedures and examinations upon their arrival in Kuwait. Al-Atl made this announcement during a meeting with the Ambassador of India, Dr. Adarsh Swaika, along with Manas Patel, the First Secretary for Labor Affairs, and Anchita Kadhwas, the Second Secretary for Consular Affairs, in the presence of several association members. This initiative is part of the Society’s efforts to eradicate unaccredited engineering practices in Kuwait, in cooperation with the Indian Embassy. Al-Atl highlighted the Society’s endorsement of the Indian National Council (NBA) lists and the global index, the Washington Accord. He expressed appreciation for the embassy’s cooperation, which has significantly reduced the number of unaccredited engineers from the Indian community.

The Indian Embassy invited the Society to visit the Ministry of Higher Education in India and learn about advancements in the educational process and other accreditation bodies. Al-Atl expressed confidence in the readiness of the Society’s Engineering Qualifications Evaluation and Accreditation Committee for cooperation and strengthening ties. Ambassador Swaika commended the existing collaboration with the association and emphasized the need to address numerous cases in cooperation with the association to meet Kuwait’s professional accreditation standards. Indian accreditation bodies and universities are prepared to meet Kuwait’s accreditation requirements. Ambassador Suika presented a set of accreditation foundation guidelines to the central Indian government and a list of Indian community engineers for collaboration with the association.
