Kuwait municipality starts crackdown on unauthorized car shelters

To tackle violations in the governorate, Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous, the Municipality’s Director-General, has ordered a campaign against car sheds in cooperative society parking lots. This aims to enforce regulations and protect public property.

The campaign will proceed in three stages: monitoring, issuing warnings, and removing unauthorized structures while documenting violations. The Municipality is determined to address these violations, especially as many car shades are unlicensed and misuse state property. The next phases will target shades in schools and expand to other government areas. Collaboration with municipal leaders and legal experts is key to effective implementation. Already, 45 umbrellas were removed from government buildings in Hawalli and 6 in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, showing the Municipality’s commitment to enforcing regulations for community benefit.
