Kuwait Reports 1,542 Accidents and 23,744 Violations in One Week

The latest statistics from Kuwait’s General Traffic Department, covering the period from the 20th to the 26th of this month, reveal concerning trends in road safety. During this time, there were 1,542 traffic accidents, including 248 classified as serious. Fortunately, 1,394 minor accidents resulted in no injuries or fatalities. Additionally, authorities issued 23,744 traffic violation citations. Among these, 35 juveniles were caught driving without valid licenses, and 36 individuals were detained for serious traffic offenses.

To address these issues, traffic police conducted extensive campaigns across Kuwait’s six governorates, resulting in the impoundment of 200 vehicles and motorcycles. Despite these efforts, a collision occurred on the Fahaheel Expressway yesterday involving two vehicles, resulting in critical injuries to two individuals who were promptly taken to Al-Adan Hospital. This underscores the importance of heightened awareness and adherence to traffic regulations.

The General Traffic Department emphasizes the need for all motorists to exercise caution, follow traffic laws, and prioritize safety to reduce the risk of accidents and fatalities on the roads.
