Sheltering Visa Violators? 6 Months Jail or KD 600 Fine

Brigadier Yousef Al-Ayoub, Director of the Residency Affairs General Department, announced that the Ministry of Interior will conduct intensive campaigns to arrest Residency Law violators who did not amend their status or leave the country within the grace period. He warned that those who shelter or hire violators will face penalties under Article 12 of the Foreigners Law, which includes six months of imprisonment or a fine of up to KD 600.

The ministry will continue campaigns against fake companies that hire foreign workers but don’t provide jobs, ensuring these companies are blocked and referred to the Public Prosecution. Additionally, the ministry has launched new online services for citizens and expatriates and is considering solutions to the demographic imbalance, such as setting quotas for expatriate communities.
