His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, emphasized the government’s commitment to combatting corruption and recovering stolen funds during his visit to Kuwait University. He stated that a corruption complaint regarding the army fund had been filed, with measures currently before the court of ministers. Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Sabah stressed the importance of not only punishing those responsible for corruption but also reclaiming the stolen funds.

He reiterated the government’s dedication to fighting corruption, ensuring that no one is above the law. His Highness emphasized the values of justice and equality that Kuwait’s society was built upon. Thanks to the efforts of the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), Kuwait’s ranking in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) has risen significantly.

Regarding administrative corruption, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Sabah highlighted its harmful effects and the government’s commitment to combating it alongside financial corruption. The government has been focused on restoring confidence in institutions and the constitution since taking office.

His Highness expressed confidence in Kuwait’s potential to develop a robust economy beyond reliance on oil, emphasizing human resources and innovation. Kuwait aims to leverage its strategic location to become a leading logistic center, providing banking and financial services to neighboring countries.

This vision aligns with His Highness the Amir’s goal of transforming Kuwait’s economy and enhancing ties with GCC countries. Projects such as the high-speed train between Riyadh and Kuwait and the Al-Duqm refinery in Oman are examples of initiatives to expand economic opportunities and strengthen regional ties.
