Approximately 16,000 travel bans imposed on Kuwaitis and expatriates

Recent statistics from the Ministry of Justice’s Travel Ban Section for January and February reveal trends in travel bans affecting citizens and expatriates. Approximately 16,000 travel bans were issued during this period, with 8,033 orders to lift bans and 917 ‘one-time travel’ requests. Al-Ahmadi Governorate had the highest number of bans, followed by Farwaniya and Hawalli. In the Family Court, 1,211 travel ban procedures were conducted, with 380 orders to lift bans. Additionally, there were 27,809 rental-related travel bans and 907 vehicle seizure procedures. Common reasons for travel bans include outstanding debts and family court cases.
