On March 10, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, the Minister of Municipality, urged hygiene department directors across Kuwait’s governorates to start campaigns against street vendors at the beginning of Ramadan. She emphasized the need to replace damaged garbage containers in residential areas weekly and ensure their cleanliness. Al-Mashaan also announced plans for inspection rounds to monitor the governorates’ performance. Additionally, she instructed officials to collaborate with the Ministry of Education to prepare schools serving as election centers for cleanliness and smooth voter access on April 4.
Al-Mashaan highlighted the importance of cooperation with the Ministries of Interior and Justice to prepare polling stations, provide necessary equipment, and maintain cleanliness on election day. She called for increased use of automatic sweepers and cleaning of emergency lanes, especially in densely populated areas like Farwaniya, Jahra, and Al-Ahmadi. Specific tasks were assigned to hygiene inspectors, including organizing campaigns against violators, ensuring regular cleaning by contracted companies, and monitoring neglected areas like farms and chalets. They were also instructed to address violations in commercial and investment complexes and clean open areas after camping seasons, ensuring cleanliness before refunding deposits.
