The Bangladesh Embassy celebrates ‘Independence and National Day

The Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait celebrated the “Independence and National Day” at the Chancery on Tuesday, March 26, with great enthusiasm and festivity. Led by H.E. Major General Md Ashikuzzaman, ndc, afwc, psc, G(Retd.), Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait, embassy officials, members of the Bangladeshi community, and representatives of the media attended the event. The program commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by H.E. Ambassador Major General (Retd.) Md Ashikuzzaman, followed by the laying of floral wreaths before the portrait of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The session included recitations from the Holy Quran and readings of messages from the Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, and Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Bangladesh. A short video documentary highlighting the significance of the Independence and National Day was also presented. In his closing remarks, Ambassador Ashikuzzaman paid tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the martyrs, and freedom fighters of the Liberation War in 1971. He emphasized Bangladesh’s development under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister H.E. Sheikh Hasina and urged the expatriate community to embody the ideals of Bangabandhu and work towards realizing his vision of ‘Sonal Bangla’ (Golden Bengal).

Special prayers were offered for the souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his family members, the martyrs, and wounded freedom fighters, as well as for the continued peace and progress of Bangladesh. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to all participants and called for unity and dedication in improving the country’s image.
